Kara Wildoner, Barn Cleaner, Animal Place. Grass Valley, CA.
My passion for animals is what leads me to work at a farm animal sanctuary. I believe that all beings should be treated equally with respect and compassion.
It is important for people to interact with animals at a sanctuary because it helps people connect with the animals they consider food. Most people have an emotional connection with domesticated animals (dogs/cats) and treat them respectfully, so once they have made that connection with the farmed animals it is so much easier for them to realize that we are all the same and that we all deserve the same treatment no matter the species.
Mr. G the goat. He is very timid and weary around humans and I have been consistently working with him to gain his trust. We have now gotten to the stage where he allows me to touch him on the back whereas before I was not even able to get near him. Mr. G is the sweetest, most loving goat and I absolutely adore him! It is my goal to befriend him and we are well on that path, I take it at the pace that is comfortable for him and I will keep on trying for as long as it takes for him to trust me fully.
People can adopt a vegan lifestyle, educate themselves and pass on that knowledge to others. We have power in numbers and we are rapidly growing and animal abuse is slowly becoming a thing of the past. People are Awakening and realizing that you do not have to harm another living being in order for you to survive and thrive. Veganism is the future!!
